CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Engineer II to join our Generation & Energy Management Team in Carlow, Ireland. In this role, you will support the planning and design of practical energy solutions across cogeneration, combined-cycle systems, boilers, chillers, renewable energy, district energy, and electric and gas interconnections.

• Participate in the planning, analysis, and design of power and thermal generation projects that improve process and energy efficiency
• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, and cost comparisons under the guidance of senior engineers
• Evaluate technical information, identify discrepancies, and help develop practical solutions aligned with client goals and project requirements
• Develop familiarity with applicable regulations, as well as firm and client standards
• Participate in field assignments to assess existing conditions, support facility upgrades, and help limit operational interference during implementation

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience required
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
• Strong theoretical knowledge and willingness to learn within the engineering discipline
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with data management and spreadsheet experience required
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

• Work on diverse energy projects that help clients improve performance, lower operating costs, and advance sustainability goals
• Build experience across a broad mix of technologies, from thermal generation and district energy to renewables and utility interconnections
