CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Manufacturing Team at a client site in Bessemer City, NC. In this impactful role, you'll work closely with manufacturing, EHS, commercial, and R&D teams to maintain safe and stable production operations while leading process improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, efficiency, capacity, and overall plant performance.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the technical execution of complex process engineering solutions that support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations
  • Provide expert consultation and resolve complex production, process, and operational challenges to improve plant performance, reliability, quality, and capacity
  • Lead process safety initiatives, including MOC activities, PHA participation, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation
  • Analyze process and asset performance data to identify opportunities for safety, reliability, yield, and operational efficiency improvements
  • Support capital projects, plant start-ups, and process improvement initiatives while collaborating with manufacturing, EHS, commercial, and R&D teams

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to solve complex manufacturing and production challenges
  • Advanced knowledge of process safety principles, including PHA, LOPA, MOC programs, EHS procedures, and environmental regulations governing plant operations
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, process improvement initiatives, and Process Safety Management (PSM) environments preferred
  • Proficiency with process control systems, including DCS and PLC platforms, and experience troubleshooting complex operating systems
  • Strong understanding of P&ID development, mass and energy balances, process calculations, and equipment sizing for industrial process systems
  • Experience supporting capital projects, project management activities, and facility improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and data-driven approaches to improving operational performance
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; persuasive and articulate in all settings

Salary Range:

$135,000 - $155,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
